During the 2017 Queensland Election the Palaszczuk Government committed to investing in sporting and recreation clubs across the state.
Cynthia Lui, Member for Cook, would like to congratulate the Mareeba District Cricket Club Inc for being awarded $90,000 to upgrade and extend the existing clubhouse to include an administration office, storage area, canteen and undercover area to support cricket at Borzi Park in Mareeba.
The President of the Mareeba District Cricket Club Inc, Mrs Irene Roy said that “the Club is thrilled to receive this much needed funding and the timing is perfect as it will allow the Club to be ready for the new season in September.”
Ms Lui said “We know how important sporting clubs are for regional communities like Mareeba."
“This investment will encourage more people to get out and be active, creating a more healthy, happy community.”
“We want to provide more opportunities for all Queenslanders to participate in sport and active recreation at the grassroots level.”
