Member for Cook Cynthia Lui wants to encourage the local community to get behind Queensland Day next month on June 6 saying ‘it’s a perfect time to celebrate all the reasons why Queensland is the best state in Australia.
“From Queensland’s stunning landscapes, world-class produce, wonderfully diverse communities and a vast portfolio of creative and industrial accomplishments, Queensland has it all” Ms Lui said.
It has been 159 years since we separated from New South Wales and we can all appreciate what a good decision that was.
Communities across Queensland are already preparing for the big day through a number of initiatives, including lighting landmarks maroon, hosting Queensland themed workplace parties, or simply gathering with friends and family.
Why not show your Queensland pride and celebrate what it means to be part of this great state.
