The Palaszczuk Government’s $600 million Works for Queensland program is delivering jobs and infrastructure in Far North Queensland.
Member for Cook Cynthia Lui said the program was supporting 595 jobs in Cape York.
“Works for Queensland has pumped over $16 million into 83 approved local government projects across the Cape,” she said.
“These are projects that are enhancing our communities, stimulating the economy and providing work opportunities for hundreds of people in the Far North,” she said.
“The Palaszczuk Government is investing $600 million in Works for Queensland over six years, so there is more to come.
“The program is great for council workers, great for tradies and great for the businesses that supply the materials used.”
“Projects like the upgrade of Ayton Waste Transfer Station Facilities and others throughout local councils in my electorate are making a real difference,” she said.
