Member for Cook Cynthia Lui was delighted to present students of Mareeba State High School a new drone to continue on their success.
“After hearing that students of Mareeba State High School took out first prize against 28 teams in the Far North Region Tournament of Drones, I knew I had to do something special for them,” she said
“The new drone will allow and encourage more students to be engaged and develop an interest in STEM related fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) by using drone technology.”
As part of the competition, teams were required to code their drones then participate in activities that solved real life problems, including counting whales and working out how to rescue people from the ocean.
